The Alps
We begin with the Alps, the highest mountain range system in Europe. Stretching approximately 750 vast miles across eight Alpine countries (France being one of them), the Alps has everything to explore and more. When I visited a few years ago, I was truly taken a-back by the offerings of exquisite landscapes and pristine snowy peaks. Dramatic glaciers, crystal-clear waters and stunning alpine beauty are not the only contributions the Alps has to offer either, there’s plenty of adventure to be had! Top skiing resorts in the Alps can provide an unbeatable range of opportunities and activities for skiiers for all levels, even for beginners like me! Ski France are French Specialists and they can offer an impressive range of French Alps holiday rentals in over 20 resorts. Their apartment complexes in the French Alps come with many amenities, while chalets afford privacy and the space to sleep larger groups. They can also offer perks such as indoor pools and private hot tubs for relaxation off the hill.
A wonderful featured Hotel in the Alps that I’ve researched, is Le Château de Candie, a 4 star Hotel, located 10 minutes from Chambéry by car and enjoys an elevated position, surrounded by forest and with views over the valley and surrounding mountains. The property comprises the main Chateau along with a number of interesting annexes including an alpine-style chalet and even a tower, providing magical rooms in which to enjoy a true fairytale castle experience! Massif Central

Next, we turn our heads to the highland region of Massif Central, which is one of the most mountainous areas of the country besides the Alps. Not as well known as the Alps resorts, this gentler mountain range is a superb family oriented haven. Based in the middle of Southern France, with the largest upland area in the whole country, Massif Central always delivers optimal snow conditions in the ski season, ultimately making this a skiers paradise. While encompassing around 15 percent of mainland France, you’ll never be short of stunning ski resorts to visit in this region. With lots of fun family-friendly places to stay at, you’ll be sure to get your pick of the bunch with all of the best sporting and action packed activities.
Let’s take a look at the Superbesse resort, located in Auvergne. This location offers sunny slopes and fun activities for the whole family, including night skiing! In Auvergne, Super Besse is a modern resort labelled ‘mountain family plus’ meaning the whole family can discover the slopes. In the evening Superbesse also offers a variety of activites and traditional restaurants. You can read more about the apartments on offer and room amenities here…
Pyrenees

If you want to be surrounded by spectacular scenery all at an affordable cost, then the Pyreness southern-France region should almost defintely be added to your bucket list. With close ties to both France and Spain, the Pyreness mountains form one of the seven mountain ranges of France. You’ll find there are many amazing quality Ski resorts each side of the Pyrnees, which offer budget friendly alternative to the Alps. The region is certainly not short of activities either; Skiing, snowboarding, ice climbing, snow shoe tracking, ski mountaineering and even dog sledding are just a number of the fun activities you can do at many of the resorts located here.
